Mission Statement
The mission of the Fleetwood Middle School Technology & Engineering Education Program, in collaboration with faculty, staff, students and the community, is to enable all students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and the values necessary to use, understand, and manage technology.
Our Philosophy
We believe that technology education is an integrated, experience-based instructional program that is designed to prepare students to be technologically literate including the evolution, systems, and uses of technology as well as its impacts on the world around us. Our program challenges students to discover, create, solve problems and construct solutions to problems utilizing a variety of tools and devices, materials, processes and technological systems to help them become responsible consumers and users of technology as well as become life long learners of technology.
Program Goals
Each student will…
- Develop the ability to apply problem solving techniques and critical thinking skills.
- Develop the ability to be an independent and collaborative learner
and worker - Acquire the knowledge and value of new technologies.
- Begin integrating and applying other school subjects in a
technical setting. - Acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for employment, continuing education, and life.
- Understand the influences of technology on consumer and
career choices. - Develop and use strategies for adjusting to new technologies and changing interaction among science, technology and society.
- Develop the ability to apply technical concepts safely and efficiently when working with tools, materials, and processes.
- Strengthen personal creativity and individual abilities to fullest extent.
This site has been in existence for about 10 years, and honestly it was time for an update. Some of the course related content is being updated at this time to reflect the newly revamp course curriculum and some parts of the site may take a little to get up and running. Thanks for your patience.
