Elementary Special Programs
ETC - Enrichment and Thinking Concepts
The gifted program provides enrichment activities which are correlated with the curricula presented in grades 3-4. In addition, all first and second grade students participate in the ETC. program, which uses Junior Great Books and emphasizes higher order thinking skills, creativity and role playing.
Learning Support
The learning support classroom provides specially designed individual educational programs to assist students experiencing difficulty in various subject areas, including reading, math, language arts, and content areas.
Title I Reading
The Title I program, which is partially subsidized by the Federal government, offers reading assistance to students in grades 1 and 2. The program focuses on reading strategies designed to assist individuals, small groups, and whole classrooms.
